I made this blanket for my friend's baby shower last weekend. They are not finding out the gender of the baby until they are born, so I thought these colors were perfect for boy or girl:)
I used a 6mm crochet hook and chained 70 and then double crocheted each row.
So many people having babies this summer/fall. It's so exciting!!
beautiful!!! Logan uses his blanket you made him EVERY day - no exaggeration at all!!!
ReplyDeletesuper cute blanky!!! I've been working on one for my 1st baby but it's been taking much longer than ONE weekend!! hehe - I didn't crochet regularly! lol! wish me luck...I'm inspired! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is super cute! I wanted to ask you about your border. Do you crochet the border on after the blanket is finished and what stitch do you use for that?
ReplyDeleteThanks! I do crochet the border on afterwards using a single crochet (US terms). I hope that helped;)
DeleteI love your blog! I'm new to crocheting and would like to make a similar blanket for my next baby. How many balls of yarn would you need for each of these two colors?
ReplyDeleteThanks! I used one for each color. Each skein was about 250yds each but I didn't use it all up. It's a fun and quick project for sure;) Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLove this! We've been approved for adoption so to pass the time while "waiting," I wanted to crochet a simple baby blanket for our (hopefully) soon-to-be new arrival. I think this will be perfect! Thanks for sharing! :-)
ReplyDeletedo you remember what weight yarn you used? or what brand!? I love these colors!
ReplyDeleteI used Red Heart yarn. Their larger bulk yarn is what I usually use. I got them at Joann since that was the only store that carried the golden yellow color. I like the way this yarn crochets and it gets softer and softer with each wash;)
