15 Minute Ruffle Scarf

This is my first tutorial for 2011!

I had some fleece material left over from my Ruffle Tree Skirt so I decided to make my daughter a little scarf (and matching flower clip) for our trip up north to play in the snow.

This scarf is ridiculously easy.

1. Cut out a strip that you want to be the length and width of the scarf and then another strip about half the width but double the length for the ruffle.

2. Sew a zig zag stitch around the edge of the scarf.

3. Ruffle the long strip down the middle of the scarf on the sewing machine.

(check out this tutorial on how to ruffle on the machine)

Done!

Just wrap it around your cutie's neck, like so:

I had a bit of fleece left over...so I made this super easy flower and glued it to a clip so when we are outside, it stays clipped to the hat, but while inside, it serves as a hair clip! I love when a craft can serve a dual purpose, don't you?

So...I'm kind of jealous of this scarf and I may need to make one for myself:)

Happy New Year!
